Ok, this blog is going to be very concise as compared to all the stuff that I would like to put down here.
What is Logic is the question for the day. If you are to dig deep (nose picking not included), you will realise that all our facts are based on axioms that are unrefuted. For e.g. the simple assumption that 1+1=2. Although its a mathematical notation to signify an operation, its still an assumption on which we base all of our mathematics.
Ever since we were enrolled into institutions to "educate" us, we have been trained to believe all these notation on which we have based our world are the single truth and the foundation for future learning. Everything from ground up is based on these axioms which have remained unchallenged. If tomorrow, some unconventional, progressive thinker proposes a new system for anything logic-based, he might be awarded the Nobel Prize or pelted with stones or maybe both.
My question arises from this, if we are basing everything that we pride ourselves on, on foundations which are not more than assumptions, then isn't everything we call logic a farce? They say that the most intelligent human being, over a lifetime, does not use more than 1% of their brain. If thats the case, then the possibilities are endless!!! Maybe thats what they mean when they say "think outside the box"!
